Website is underway
I have made some recent changes to my website. It isn't much but it does look different now. We'll see what happens next. I would still like to make it a flash based site so that I can have animations all over the place but we'll see how that goes.
CLICK HERE to see the newer site.

Pumpkin Carving
Each year I have to make a better one than my last. The last one I can remember making was a spider man one.
This Year...
we'll see what I come up with next year

A Sticky Situation
I just recently started making my own stickers for no apparent reason. Other than the fact that the only way my art will be put up is if I put it up myself....
"Vandalism is FUN!"
p.s. - if anyone is interested in owning a sticker made my jared please contact me. Since I'm not working I'll sell that at a reasonable price, $32 a pop...
Just kidding, if you actually want one please let me know and I will be sure to get one out to you with a design of your choosing for no fee whatsoever.

Zombie Pub Crawl
"What do we want?"
"brains"
"When do we want em'?"
"brains"
Last night was my first time participating in the fourth annual Zombie Pub Crawl in downtown Minneapolis. People dressed up like zombies and went from bar to bat moaning, limping, and yelling "BRAINS". This year there were 16 bars participating in the event. Each bar had different drink specials for zombies. Some specials consisted of mostly cheap bears and brain shots. I went with my old roommate Zac, his girlfriend Ashley, and her roommate Griffin.
Here is what I looked like last night.
I'll post more pictures when I get them from Zac. He took a bunch of way nicer ones with his digital camera.

Max Payne in the ass
If you played the video game, odds are, you wanna see the movie. The movie wasn't bad... but it was nothing like the video game. I seem to remember playing through the game being able to slow down time so that you could do a very "Matrix"-ish thing with dodging bullets and shooting people before they could shoot you. There was MAYBE one part in the movie where they slowed down time in this sense but it was pointless and he couldn't move any faster than anyone else during this time.
Marky Mark wasn't totally Horse Doody in this film. He was better than he was in The Happening. He does an action roll pretty well, but then again, I've always been a fan of his in The Italian Job. Overall, this dark action movie is probably something that will draw you to the theater if you were a fan of the games. But the story was lacking and I found it confusing, as did my friend who had never played the games before... ENJOY!

A Trip to Menomonie
Today Michael and I made a little 3 hour tour to The University of Wisconsin Stout in Menomonie. We made this journey for my dad. It's his birthday on monday and he loves the beef jerky from a little shop called Cut Rite. We Drove out and bought a $25 bag of the finest, saltiest, most tasty beef jerky they had. I actually bought all that was in the display case in front, but the guy reassured me that he had more in back.
It was only when I got there that I realized I could have placed an order and payed for it over the phone and then asked my good friend Zac pick it up on his way back to the city on the weekend. That's how smart I am.
Anyway, I'm glad I went on the trip because I ended up going to Zac and Joe's house and hung out with Joe for a bit. Then I went down to the art building and saw zac along with some old friends. I also spoke with my old Art Metals teacher, Tim Alberg.
After our trip to the art building we ate at Jeff and Jim's Pizza. OH! WAIT! I mean "JEFF'S Pizza Shop". F*ckers changed the name my senior year. To me they will always be Jeff and Jim's. We ordered Hawaiian pizza, smotharella sticks, and ham manjare rolls. If you really want to know what the last two things are you should go HERE! Which you should, because they have, BY FAR, the best smotharella sticks and manjare rolls you'll ever find... or at least I've ever found...

BEER PONG!
Well, I was invited to be in a beer pong tournament with Gretchen's best friend Kari. It was the fourth annual tournament, and based on how good I am, and how good Kari is, I wasn't expecting too much. Which was a good thing because we lost all but one game in the prelims and then went out with 1 win and 2 losses in the actual tournament. After two losses you're out. But all in all, it was good. All the beer I could drink for $10.
Ended up leaving at about 12:30. I had stopped drinking earlier so that I could drive home, just in case Gretchen wouldn't be up for the challenge. But we were both fine.
The other day, Gretchen asked if I would go with her to JoAnn Fabrics in Coon Rapids. Naturally, I said no, but then she bribed me with a trip to a comic store. She looked on line, found a new one I had never been to, and we were off. Went to JoAnns... you can imagine how fun that was. A guy in a fabric store. But when we got to the comic shop, holy f*cking sh*t. This place was nuts. Not so great with newer releases, but there back issues are all 5 for $1.00. AND they have a deal where you can fill a long box with as many as you can and it only costs you $40. Since the first trip, I've been back 3 times and I have the box about half way full. That's about 140 comics. When it's JAM PACKED it will be close to 300. That's like saving $20 in my book.

Weekend with the CON
The MNCBA Fallcon: Comic Book Celebration was going on this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. I, naturally, went both days because, YES, I'm that big of a nerd now. I went with Dan the first day and I met a friend up there the second. I ended up getting quite a few more comics than I expected but they were at AMAZING prices. Some for only 25¢ an issue. Those times were when I went nuts and bought like 80 that I needed. Now my collection is impressive, MOST impressive.
There was a drawing that was going on both days. All you had to do is sign up for the mailing list and then they would give you a ticket with a number on it and they would post 15 numbers every half hour. Winners could go up and pick a prize from a wall of comics or tables with t-shirts... REALLY shitty ones, I might add. I was lucky enough to win the first day so I picked out a comic that was hard to get and that I needed. The second day I signed up more than once, which you weren't supposed to do, and I won twice, so I got two more comics. My friend shawn who met me up there the second day won twice as well and he's not really into comics so he let me pick out ANOTHER two comics. It was awesome.
I saw a few people that I knew up there, some from the Robot Love store and some that I went to high school with. Ended up having a good time and I wouldn't have changed a minute of it.

Biking, or the lack there of
I just went out yesterday and purchased a new set of gears for my bike, and had them installed of course. I also purchased a tool that will help me readjust my rear bike tire. I believe I've hit one too many bumps and the tire is unaligned. Which is the real reason why I haven't been riding. I noticed it about 2 days ago, after a ride out to my grand parents house in Korkren (that was about a ten and a half mile ride one way).
As soon as I finish adjusting my rear tire, i'll be back on the road, and now that it's a great deal colder outside in the mornings, the ride will be better, at least in my opinion. I never really was much for heat, more of a winter/cold person.
***THE ANIMATION***
Dan and I were talking today about it and decided that, since neither of us have really been working on it and he can't get next weekend off of work to meet in Menomonie and follow threw with the stakes of our bet, we will call it a DRAW and finish the movies at a later date.
WHICH lets me get back to work on my website.
Sorry to all of those who were biting you nails to see the video. Maybe next time you should post comments on my blog so that I know people are actually reading it...
::Good way to turn the blame around onto the readers of Jared's Blog::
WOOPS!
Anyway, Fallcon this weekend at the State Fair Grandstands. Getting my comic list together so that I know what I'm looking for this time. More updates will follow with how things are going with the site and how the comic convention went.
