Prince of Persia

Bad.

I went into this with low expectations but they were SHATTERED with an even worse movie. There was NO character development, every character in this Persian movie was played by a white person (with a shitty, half assed, part british sounding accent), PLUS the story made no sense and had a very week plot. By the way JAKE FUCKING GYLLENHAAL... SERIOUSLY? He was in NO WAY fit to play this part... Good in Jar Head, good in Donnie Darko, shit, good in Bubble Boy... but this... I'm sorry sir... NO!

I've heard that the movie doesn't do the game any justice but WOW. I played threw half of a Prince of Persia game and LOVED IT... How you can ruin something that was originally so great is beyond me... OH, WAIT, let's take the main thing that makes this story even worth watching (a dagger that turns back time) and DO NOTHING WITH IT. He used the dagger LITERALLY three times in the whole damn movie. In the game you use it every five seconds. He used it once in one battle, once in another, and once again... I could be making this up, he may have only used it twice.... but seriously THAT'S how memorable it was.

My stomach literally hurt after this movie... probably because I hadn't eaten much but when I'm watching a movie and I'm hungry, I usually pay more attention to the movie than my stomach... this was not the case tonight.

Filled with mediocre jokes, shallow characters and a sub par plot line, Prince of Persia definitely gets 4 "Don't go see this movie"s out of 5.

AROUND!

Sorry for the NOT SO RECENT updates. I've been pretty busy, yet, still no job.

I went to gretchen's friend's graduation party. Played Beer Pong and Tippy Cup. Fun stuff.

Went on a CRAZY long bike ride with Tom. Almost to Stillwater but we turned back about 5 or 6 miles short due to time restraints and weather. It was an awesome ride even though we did get a little rained on and tom's tire decided to pop. Still, a patch job outside of a Blockbuster got the job done and we were on our way.

I also FINALLY got my long awaited toys in the mail.

These were supposed to come in January... then February... but they finally came in May. Very awesome figures designed by Ashley Wood. These are the MK2 Bertie figures.

In more recent NEWS, I'm making a FOOD garden. Just got back in from measuring the area and it looks like it's going to be 10 feet by 30 feet, which makes it a WAPPING 300 square foot garden.

Pics will come as soon as I get it dug up and start tilling the soil. If anyone has any suggestions for me, please let me know as this is my first FOOD garden.

I'm planning on growing corn, carrots, onions, tomatoes, grape tomatoes, lettuce, soybeans, watermelon, cantaloup, strawberries and raspberries. And I'm excited.

More to come soon, I hope.

Robin of the Hood

Robin Hood... Awesome. A pretty interesting version of the classic Robin Hood with some slight twists on the story.

One thing about this movie is that it's kind of following the path that MOST big movies are these days, which is taking something old and telling how it got started... or the "prequel".

I'm not sure if this is more like the ORIGINAL Robin Hood or if this is a different take on it. I've heard that this one is closer to the book than the rest, but that's just what I've heard.

The paper gave it a 3.5/4 stars... I'd have to give it the full 4. I really enjoyed it and found myself wanting more.

Yeti Colab

A friend of mine, Joel Anderson (HERE), did this piece a while back.

I figured I'd do a sort of collaboration/inspiration piece based on it.

Iron Man 2

"Iron Man 2" was good. People will say that it's not as good as the first one but this only comes from the feeling you got when you FIRST saw Iron Man on the big screen. "Iron Man 2" seems like a perfect addition to the already amazing title. I can't say I liked it more or less than the first one because they both had different strengths.

The first "Iron Man" was mainly about his origin. This meant that it was filled with "OH MY GOD HE'S POWERING UP HIS HAND CANON FOR THE FIRST TIME" or "LOOK AT THAT IT'S SO AWESOME" moments. The first few fights you see Iron Man in, fully suited up, will stick with you. "Iron Man 2" had less of a nostalgic feel but the fight scenes felt like they were improved. The story was a bit more in depth, a trait that Marvel films have been slowly getting a better handle of.

One thing that I didn't like is that Iron Man can't have a single villain that doesn't have some sort of mock up of his very suit. At least not in the movies. I can't think of any of Iron Man's enemies, probably because I don't read the comic, but as far as the movies go, I don't know that anything would be able to stand up to his suit and the powers that this movie mad it out to have.

Definitely a must see. And when you do see it, stay after the credits for yet another surprise.
