Website configuration

My website has undergone a bit of reconstruction the last few days and is now up and working... added a resume and the index is now the portfolio page. I would like to do a complete overhaul on it but we'll see what comes of it.

would love feedback.

Netflix +1

Watched a few movies over the last few days, thanks to netflix...
Two movies I watched, that were at my house waiting since before we left for Florida, were Charlie Bartlett and W.
Charlie Bartlett was pretty good. I enjoyed it quite a bit. W. was so-so... nothing great... so I guess it was pretty true to the person it was based on.
As far as Netflix's watch instantly movies, today I watched What Just Happened?, Jesus Camp and Small Town Gay Bar.
What Just Happened was pretty cool. Jesus Camp was just WOW and Small Town Gay Bar was pretty good... not my favorite documentary but not a bad one either.

I also watched both Kill Bill movies the other night, forgot how awesome those were. Now I want a samurai sword.

I guess I'll have to settle on a lightsaber... WHERE YOU AT WITH THAT DESIGN ZAC?!

Beat It... never more...

OMG... Michael Jackson died today... CRAZY...

pretty much sucks...

Transformers: Rise of the Fallen

I am glad to say that it was actually MUCH better than I had planned on. I really enjoyed it. The action and CG was definitely out of this world, and the story... well... how great can a story be that's about robots in disguise? I did actually like this one AS MUCH, if not more, than the first. It seemed a lot longer, which is always a plus in my book... as long as you keep me entertained. It also went into greater detail about the transformers and their race. Whether or not it was true to the original is beyond me, but it was still fun to watch.

The introduction of new characters was a bit... um... well we'll just say they added a couple for pure comic relief. The new "bad guy" was pretty cool, as was his background story. And I really want to know when the hell Optimus Prime became such a bad ass... and learned how to fight... Not gunna lie, he was kind of a pussy in the first one... and even tho he takes a spill or two in this one, he f*ckin' tears it up.

Overall, it goes in the category of "if you like the first, you'll like this one". But I think I actually enjoyed it more. Who wouldn't enjoy a cameo with Dwight from 'The Office'?

Year One

Saw this little number with my grandma Connie and cousin Jessica. They both liked it, as did I. It's along the lines of Nacho Libre and Superbad, both funny movies in my eyes.

If you like Jack Black, the Tenatious D movie, Nacho Libre, Superbad, and any other movie that fits in this category, you'll most likely enjoy this one.

Florida 6.19.09

I don't even know who reads this... but I can see that the number over there (the visitor counter) keeps going up. SO, I'll keep posting.

Still here in florida, with a belly full of Landshark and waiting for a pizza... at 11:02pm Florida time. We leave tomorrow at 11am... the plain leaves at 1pm Florida time... which is 12pm Minnesota time.

Here is the part where I go into greater detail about our day. Just about everything, is what I'll try to cover. So if you wanna stop reading now, I'll understand.

We started today with breakfast... then moved on to Universal Studios Orlando Florida. Rode the rides, had the fun, waited in lines, although not too many because of the express passes that mom-dukes purchased.

E.T. ride - good, same as always.
*NEW* Simpson's Ride - pretty awesome... Motion ride... it replaced the Back to the Future ride.
Men In Black - I got a bonus 100,000 points and ended the ride with 220,200 points... so I pretty much WHOOPED ass...
Jaws ride - always good... I mean, it IS jaws
Mummy ride - good stuff, roller coaster.
Shrek 4D - same as always...
Jimmy Newtron - motion ride.... not bad...

and then on to Islands of adventure... hit the Dr. Seuss area and went on the cat in the hat ride, not bad, but quickly moved on to the talking fountain that sprays water at kids. There has to be a guy talking and aiming the water sprayers somewhere... I think I know where but it's pretty hidden. It's fun to watch... kids and unsuspecting guests to the park walk up and hear the fountain and don't realize that it can spray you at any moment. It looks like a regular fountain with a bearded face on it, but it has glowing green eyes and an open mouth with a nozzle in it that turns and sprays people. It can also shoot water all around it, high into the air, and can shoot bursts of water up as well... sorry, that's a lot about the fountain but it's really fun...

Then we went to the Incredible Hulk roller coaster. Amazing. moved on to the Spider man ride, the Jurassic Park ride (which was closed) and to the Dueling Dragons roller coaster which is always AWESOME! Then to Dr. Seuss land to ride the Cat in the Hat ride again... this time, WITH my parents. Then back to the Hulk ride and off to the car. On the way to the Hulk ride, Gretchen pointed out a small child with his shirt pulled up around his chest and his hands down near his crotch... That's right... he was PEEing, in Dr. Suess land, through the railing. It was the highlight of the day... wish I had my camera.

Back to Downtown Disney for gretchen to find some cups for her nephews, where I ended up getting the two final pins that I needed to complete the Star Wars pin set that I started on Sunday.

After that, back to the hotel to check out the pool. We ended up ordering pizza, gettin it about an hour later, calling back to inform the place that my mom and Geretchen's pizza was incorrect because it had pepperoni on it even tho they both don't eat meat. And now, at 12:22pm, we STILL don't have the correct pizza... it's supposed to be on it's way, but we'll see.

Well anyway, this will probably be the final post from or about Florida, unless I see a kid peeing in a plant at the airport tomorrow on our way back home.

well until next time... may the force be with you...
Landshark... I mean.... Jared

Florida 6.15.09

Two coats of sun tan lotion and I still get burnt. Day two was a day at the beach while my mom was working to fund this trip. We sat around, swam, sat around some more, swam some more, sat around MORE, got a boogy board, swam, sat around, got some food, sat around and left.

I think my dad, gretchen and I all got hit my the sun's cancer rays today.

Gretchen is now a raccoon...

fun stuff, and my mom is just now getting off work.

Florida 6.14.09

First full day under our belts. We Went to MGM Studios (now known as Disney's Hollywood Studios) for a full day experience. We've all been there before but this was the first time we've been there during Star Wars Weekends. Every summer, for a month, just on the weekends, They decorate the park in Star Wars Banners and have character walk around and pose for pictures. There was a full Star Wars parade, that we just missed, but caught the butt end of. I ended up seeing a star wars Dance off called Hyperspace Hoopla... check it out on You Tube... pretty funny.

We went on all the ride and visited a bunch of stores but the best part was, by far, that Star Wars was everywhere.

Here are a few things that I bought.

A mickey mouse/dunny thing called vinylmation

Stitch Yoda Toy

Donald Duck Darth Maul statue

Christmas Stocking Stuffer Star Wars Toys

And a bunch of Blind Boxed Pins

The Hangover

Jessica and I saw this thursday night/friday morning and we both thought it was pretty funny. I believe it was created by the people who brought us "Old School" and I think they held up their end of the bargain. Pretty funny. Exactly what I thought it was going to be. Definitely worth watching if you're a fan of old school.

someone was pissed...

yay my brute

Wii Punch Out

Just got Wii Punch Out... if you loved the first one, this one is a must. It's basically created in the first one's image. You can play with wiimote and nun-chuck, or you can go old school and flip the wiimote sideways for a classic controller. There's also an option to use the Wii Fit balance board for dodging left and right.

Once again you are Little Mac and are on a mission to make it to the top. Along the way you fight all of the classic boxers, Glass Joe, King Hippo, Bald Bull along with some new ones. It makes it very interesting to see what moves are the same with the classic character, and which new moves they have thrown in. No one character is EXACTLY like the classic version. It's pretty cool, and definitely worth picking up if you are a Wii-brain and loved punch out.
