Taken

My reviews usually need to be taken with a grain of salt... that said, THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME! I loved it. A definite MUST see for people who like action movies. It has you at the edge of your seat the whole time. Action, suspense, drama, thriller. This had better fight sequences than the latest Bond movie. In fact, I was much more satisfied seeing this than I was with the latest Bond movie. I would rank this near The Departed. Another movie that everyone should see.

Just my opinion, but this guy would beat the living piss out of James Bond any day....
I'm just sayin'!

expansion of the castle crashers character

I expanded on the character of myself in "Castle Crashers" form. I would wield a pencil that can erase my foes.... or just scribble mustaches and other things on them. My magical power would be my drawn creations or minions that I could summon to destroy my foes.

My animal orb would be "Bongoes" the gorilla. His ability would be throwing poo at nearby enemies.

Crashin'

Dan's post speaks of him and I playing a game called Castle Crashers. He created a character for his latest blog post 1.24.09 and I felt the need to come up with a rebuttal. So here it is.

I reed GOOD! :)

Went to Barns and Noble today and bought a stack of books... LITERALLY! I went in there thinking I would look over the bargain books and found way more than I thought. Most books were marked down 75% off of the lowest price you could find on the book... AND most had price tags of $9.99 or less. Ended up walking out with this fat stack and not even breaking $40.

and just in case you didn't believe me, here's the receipt with all the low low prices. A bunch were under $2.00, and I even ended up getting one for 78¢.

sorry about the crappy pics, but long story short... GO TO BARNS AND NOBLE and get yourselves some literature!!!

Paul Blart, mall crap... I mean cop

A grown up version of home alone.... and I don't mean like "for grown ups", I mean cast with grownups. I found a few parts 'laugh out loud'-able, but for the most part, the movie was just unrealistic and unbelievable, even though most Happy Madison movies are.

I'm not sure what else there is to say... It's worth seeing, but then again, in my opinion, most movies are.

Jodhaa Akbar

Recently Signing up for Netflix, I had this movie, Jodhaa Akbar, sent to me. It was one of the movies I saw during my trip to India. It's a little different than movies that are made here in the states, but it's definitely a MUST SEE for people who have an open mind and like watching movies about other cultures. Like any other Bollywood movie, this movie has many great songs and dance numbers, along with quite a few action scenes and an intermission for you to switch discs. Just like it did in the theater in India.

If you can, get your hands on a copy of this. It's all in Hindi so you'll have to turn on the English subtitles. Even if you usually don't like subtitles, this one is worth it.

Sites and Shites

Over the last few days a great deal has happened. I haven't been feeling well over the last couple days. I spent almost all of today in bed because of it. Although my website is still coming along nicely.

So has the Baggan's Pub site... HERE

I signed up for the netflix free trial a couple days ago and I just finished watching my first two movies, "Traitor" and "Bangkok Dangerous". Bother weren't bad but I won't be rushing to buy them any time soon. Hopefully I'll be able to keep the movie reviews coming because of it.

Netfilx has a "view instantly" option with some of their movies so I've been streaming them through my xbox, and I must say, the quality is actually pretty amazing. The movies on the "view instantly" list aren't all that new, but defiantly worth checking out. I have a list set up of movies I never got a chance to see.

Just picked up the new xbox 360 game "Lord of the Rings: Conquest". Very fun game. Made by the people who made "Star Wars: Battle Front" so you know it's good. Basically the same game just Lord of the Rings instead of Star Wars.

Ask me what's new next time you SEE me in person for the latest chapter in Jared's life.

Another Package of the Star Wars Kind

Got this in the mail today. Another ebay purchase.

I am actually astonished by the prices I have got these two figures from. These cost a lot less than I thought they would... which is why I jumped on them when I found them on ebay.

Well, at least I have another desk guardian in the collection.

GO STAR WARS!!!

The Hobbit Is Right

FIRST POST OF THE YEAR!!!
My very cool friend Dan Jensen (SavageHobbit) has decided to post a picture per day, be it sketch or full illustration. He will post every day... not a bad idea, I think I'll shoot for SOMETHING like that. we'll see what happens. Hopefully I can keep up.

Well, first things first... Dan and I were in Menomonie a while ago and we decided that we should do a collaboration art piece. We originally thought ANIMATION... but then I suggested that we start with something a bit more simple....

ILLUSTRATIONS!!!!

SO, if you read Dan's blog, he goes into further detail about how we came up with the subject matter but, long story short, we decided on choosing animals and we each did an of the other.
Dan chose a Ram and I chose a Kangaroo. Here is what we came up with.

Here's MY version of Dan as a Ram... I like to call it "DanRam".

Here is Dan's version of ME as a Kangaroo... He's called "jRoo".

We each tried to capture the other's likeness by adding certain elements. For Dan, I added the stripes of his favorite hat, his glasses, his beard and his uncanny ability to make short look so good.

If you would like more information about Dan's "jRoo", please visit his blog at SavageHobbit.
