101°F and 80.84 miles

That's right... 101 degrees outside today around 2pm. Crazy HOT ride to Chaska with Justin Mueller and Tom Hanson. Just about killed myself.

Although we did have a nice swim in the lake to cool down. So that was a plus.

Two Week's of Rides

Last Week's Ride:

A week ago Tom took me out for THE RIDE.... We it the BIG 100. It was awesome but WOW was I tired at the end. We started with a swing by the Coon Rapids Dam after passing Tammy and Deans. Saw a salamander and a snake on the trail.

We then took the longest way possible to Chevis and Dan's house where we stopped for a Super Hero popsicle with Daniel, I had spiderman, Tom had the Hulk and Daniel had Iron Man... So good. Then we had to hit Minneapolis and do a lap around Lake Calhoun before my computer would read 100 when I got home. It actually read 100.1.

The Final Count.

Today's Ride:

Today Tom and I rode out to Karen's house and had her join in the fun. After we picked her up, we went through Minneapolis to St. Paul. From there we took a few different trails before heading back on the Grand Round trail. After we dropped her back off we headed home... saw 3 Bald Eagles today. One was young w/o the white head, the other two were in the same tree on the lake.

We also stopped by the little gnome home on Lake Calhoun. Pretty cool...

Saw a squirrel get hit by a car... idk why they go across and then decide to cut back while they're underneath the car... He got hit and struggled, back legs kicking furiously, pushing his head across the pavement, while the front two were rendered useless. We stopped so Tom could end it's pain, but as soon as we got off our bikes, it had stopped kicking.

Coon Rapids Crash

Today I went for a ride... less than half way in, 8.5 or so miles, I started crossing the Coon Rapids Dam and BOOM... crash...

I was Crossing the dam, a kid was on the wrong side of the path. I was all the way up against the right side/railing. The far left side was filled with people. I started Ringing my bell and he's not doing anything. I decide to go around him on the left and last minute, he looks up and BOOM... crash-tastic. My rim is all fucked up now and I have a scrape on my knee, bump on my elbow and a bruise on my shoulder... Other than that I'm good... and the kid was fine too. No injuries and his little bike was still functioning.

This Week and Last

So Holly and Everest were here. Chevis, Dan, Gretchen and I joined Holly and Janice at Janice and Tom's place for a game night. That was pretty awesome.

I went for a bike ride on one of the hottest days with my friends in Minneapolis. 9.26 miles.

I went on another Bike Ride with Tom the day after. Another AMAZINGLY hot day. Ended up biking around Lake Minnetonka. 61.12 miles.

This is where Tom and I stopped for a dip. I went up to my knees and left my biking shorts on... Tom dipped completely in, he wore his speedos under his shorts.... But those didn't get wet.

It was so hot that day that we stopped for cold beverages twice... and two bathroom breaks... each... and not the quick ones :O

It was so hot that day, we decided to rinse off a bit under a shower by a beach... but it was hot water... didn't help.

Headed back home and came across this shower... it was ice cold and VERY refreshing.

My gloves left some interesting dotted tan lines on my hands, as they always do.

Finally got around to picking corn from my garden... BEST CORN I'VE EVER HAD!

Barbara and Jessica are helping my grandma with her Garage sale... I guess I'm helping as well. And you could even say Tim is helping... to an extent.

I brought a couple old boxes of toys from her garage to my car and found this...

It was a hot one yesterday.

It was a hot one TODAY. At least we're getting some rain now, so that should help, I hope.

75.22 miles

Yesterday Tom and I went on a nice long bike ride to Stillwater. It took us about two hours to get there but we kind of took our time, and a different way, getting back.

75.22 miles is the longest ride I've done yet. I really only started getting really tired and sore for the last 15 miles. Our max speed for the trip was right around 40 miles per hour... CRAZY FAST on a bicycle.

This is a photo of Stillwater from the Wisconsin side of the river. We figured, since we cam all this way, we might as well go over to Wisconsin.

When we were on that side, they raised the bridge for a boat to go under.

Finally, a post NOT about my AMAZINGLY Fast, Furiously HUGE, Ass Kicking New Computer!!!

Yesterday Tom and I went on a 62.75 mile bike ride. We started at my house and ended up going toward Minneapolis, but not into it. We went around it and just kept going. We went past the airport and curved back around by the Hyland Ski resort. People were using it for frisbee golf. Here's a couple of pics I took.

If you look just to the left of that dark blue building with the point, you can JUST barely see Minneapolis... That's how far on we were on the OTHER side of it, south of 494.

We also swung by the Viking's Training place.

Pretty cool seeing that boat and the word "VIKINGS" in the bushes.
