I'm Boring...

It's come to my attention, by an unnamed source, that my blog is officially BORING! I apologize for this. It's been a rough couple weeks including a couple 12+ hour days. But that's all behind me now that I have the week off.

My boss is in Las Vegas for the World of Concrete Trade Show. Where a lot of the work that Dan (co-worker) and I have worked on is hanging at the "Citadel" booth. I'll post pics when I get them. But as for this week, I've been spending it just relaxing and playing video games.

I took a couple trips to Dan's place in Minneapolis for some R&R with some Gaming thrown in. He lives really close to Zac and Ashley. Also very close to JJ.

Tomorrow is a new Dunny release so I'm planning on heading to Minneapolis tomorrow for hopefully another game day, followed by a dunny release and then a party at the CC Club for Ashley since it's her birthday.

It's also DANIEL ANTONIO PESO's Birthday today.

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY DANIEL!!!!!

Chevis, Please show that to him... :)
ALSO, I called the little guy today, via his mother's phone, and one thing that I think he asked me was, "What do you have new at your house?"

Well these are about it... aside from a PS3 and some blu-rays...
There's a beer can to the right for a size comparison.

This is the newest recruit. He's a Heave Bramble.

In other news, Gretchen's parents were out of town and she doesn't like staying home alone so she spend the night here a couple nights, and one of those nights my dad said that he got up in the morning and heard some crazy cat noises. He said it sounded like a couple cats fighting or something. The next day I went out to check out the crime scene and this is what I found...
A bunch of clumped hair, no idea what it's from, cat or bunny.
And a big gnarly paw/scratch mark. Neighbors thing it's a bobcat or something. Idk, but that thing is as big as my hand.

After going to check out the crime scene I stopped by Michaels place to see his baby.
Conked right out. What a good baby.

I've also been working on a logo and seeing some movies. I'll post the logo once I finish it.

Today, but Yesterday TOO!

Went biking today... With Tom... To the Edina Art Fair. 32.7 miles...

But before I get into TODAY, let me tell you about yesterday. A bunny... a BABY bunny... in my garage when I went out to look at my garden.

Cutest little thing EVER.

I opened the garage, it ran farther in. Scared it back toward the door, it would make a huge round turn and dart back into the corner.... I guess it didn't want to leave. But It finally went under my Gun Safe in, which wasn't too smart since there's only one way out of there, the front, and we (Michael and me) scared it out the big door. Michael started reaching under the safe with a glove on trying to catch it and it ran toward the door, where I was waiting and then scared it outside... Pain in the ass... probably should have kept it... could have named him STEVE.

Well after that, I sold toys on line until close to 2pm or 3pm when Michael and I went to Barb and Tim's house to catch some coy fish out of the pond in the back yard and help Grandma and Jessica move some furniture into the house. After we caught our fill of fish that we weren't going to eat, we headed home. All of them, surprisingly, made the trip home alive.

But now... back to TODAY.
The Art Fair was pretty cool. We met Chevis, Cedra and Daniel there and walked around for a while.

I guess Daniel has this new thing where he says "HI" to EVERYONE... and I'm talking EVERYONE. If you're in his line of sight, he'll say "hi" repeatedly until you are no longer in view. It was pretty awesome. I tried to tell him that I only say "hi" to people who make eye contact with me... but I don't think he cared. "HI, HI, HI, HI!"

I ended up leaving Tom, Chevis and the kids and started my bike ride home. Had to make it back before the post office closed. I've been selling Dunnys/Toys like Hotcakes on line and need to get them out of my living room asap.

If anyone is interested in taking a look at what I've got, you can see the images HERE. and for anyone who reads this, I'll give you and EXTRA good price on things :)

Gretchen and I will be there trying to sell as much of my collection as humanly Possible. I will be selling all sorts of 3" and 8" dunnys, along with any other kind of urban vinyl you can think of.

Come in with A PICTURE of this coupon ON YOUR PHONE (save paper) and you'll receive 20% off any purchase from MY TABLE!!!

AROUND!

Sorry for the NOT SO RECENT updates. I've been pretty busy, yet, still no job.

I went to gretchen's friend's graduation party. Played Beer Pong and Tippy Cup. Fun stuff.

Went on a CRAZY long bike ride with Tom. Almost to Stillwater but we turned back about 5 or 6 miles short due to time restraints and weather. It was an awesome ride even though we did get a little rained on and tom's tire decided to pop. Still, a patch job outside of a Blockbuster got the job done and we were on our way.

I also FINALLY got my long awaited toys in the mail.

These were supposed to come in January... then February... but they finally came in May. Very awesome figures designed by Ashley Wood. These are the MK2 Bertie figures.

In more recent NEWS, I'm making a FOOD garden. Just got back in from measuring the area and it looks like it's going to be 10 feet by 30 feet, which makes it a WAPPING 300 square foot garden.

Pics will come as soon as I get it dug up and start tilling the soil. If anyone has any suggestions for me, please let me know as this is my first FOOD garden.

I'm planning on growing corn, carrots, onions, tomatoes, grape tomatoes, lettuce, soybeans, watermelon, cantaloup, strawberries and raspberries. And I'm excited.

More to come soon, I hope.

guess what...

IT'S A TRAP!!!

I've been picking up a few figures here and there. Mostly from a friend I met on craigslist.com and some people on ebay.

But now that I have a decent sized collection, I can back off a bit and just enjoy all these little eyes staring at me while I sit at the computer.

Star Wars Toys

I guess Hasbro is coming out with an AMAZING line of Star Wars Toys for 2010.

These Feature:

Star Wars 3.75 INCH VINTAGE ACTION FIGURES
(Approximate Retail Value: $7.99; Ages: 4 & up)
In 2010, Hasbro is taking Star Wars fans back to “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away” with 28 Star Wars 3.75 inch VINTAGE ACTION FIGURES. The selection includes all-time favorite characters from throughout the six-film Saga, such as LUKE SKYWALKER, 4-LOM, DENGAR and HAN SOLO. Each of the figures in this assortment will feature the exceptionally accurate design and superb articulation customary to Hasbro’s action figures, and they will be offered in packaging reminiscent to that of the original 1978-1984 Star Wars packaging!

Additionally fans are also encouraged to collect five of the marked figures in the new vintage lineup to send away for their very own “Rocket Firing” BOBA FETT action figure, identically styled after the 1980 mail-away figure.

Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET
(Approximate Retail Price: $34.99; Ages: 4 & up)
Show off your bounty hunting skills like Boba Fett, the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy, with the Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET. Impressively designed and styled, the Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET allows children to pretend to be their favorite bounty hunter as featured in both the movieThe Empire Strikes Back and the new animated series The Clone Wars. The helmet also features electronic sounds and phrases and a light-up tracking scope!

Star Wars AT-AT
(Approximate Retail Value: $99.99; Ages: 5 & up)
In space, size
does matter, and Hasbro certainly kept that in mind when creating its all-new, highly detailed Star Wars AT-AT. The AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) played a significant role in the Empire’s military assault in The Empire Strikes Back, and it will play an equally important role in every fan’s toy collection this year! Measuring more than 24 inches tall, nearly 28 inches long, and 12 inches wide, this colossal vehicle holds up to 20 Star Wars figures — 6 of which can fit in its head alone! — and includes so many play and electronic features true to its on-screen counterpart that it’s hard to believe! From the zip-line in its body and articulated legs for superb poseability, to its LED lights and authentic movie sounds and phrases, this is the must-have addition for Star Wars fans of all ages. Includes a 3.75 inch AT-AT driver action figure and a pop-out speeder bike.

Additional Hasbro releases for 2010 include the following, with the first two items featured with photos in our earlier coverage here. Unless otherwise noted, these will all be available August 1:

I only Listed the ones that I'm interested in... and in the order of which I will most likely buy them... not sure if I'll get the huge AT-AT yet (although if it comes with 9 figures I might have to) but will probably get the a bunch of the vintage star wars figure remakes and the Boba Fett helmet... cause I'm cool like that.

:)

You can find the rest of the 2010 star wars lineup HERE...

Thanks DEREK for telling me about this :p

Look what I got!

I met a new friend threw Craigslist.com and he sold me some very awesome star wars figures at an amazing price.
left to right: Hoth Han, Obiwan, Ton Ton (ton ton rider is next to him), Luke, R2-D2, C-3PO, Emperor, BOBA FETT!!, Darth Vader, Luke, Han, Leia, Sand Person...

Also a Boba Fett Pez dispenser, a slave one and a speeder (both in crap condition so he gave them to me for free) and a Boba Fett Mighty Mug (Been looking for one of those for a while now).

The guy's name is Andrew, I met his really nice family and he showed me his star wars SHRINE. Super Cool. We talked star wars for over an hour I think, then we looked at some of his star wars books. We talked art and photography for a bit and then I begun my journey home.

If anyone is in need of anything star wars, this would be the guy to go to.

Thanks Andrew!

iPad

Today Apple released their brand new iPad which is Apple's first Tablet Notebook thing... or, a really big iPod Touch.

This sleek looking piece of hardware features:
iPhone/iPod Touch Apps
WiFi 802.11n
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
Accelerometer & Compass
Speaker
Microphone
30-pin iPod connector
1GHz Apple A4 Chip
9.7 inch display (1024 x 768 pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch)
Full capacity multi touch screen
10 hours of battery life, over a month of standby
0.5 inches thick
1.5 lbs

The more expensive model features:
3G internet:
$14.99 for 250mb data
$29.99 for unlimited
GPS

Pricing chart looks like this:
16 GB32 GB64 GB
Wi-Fi$499$599$699
Wi-Fi + 3G$629$729$829

Which isn't too bad I guess....

But what doesn't it have? A camera, for one. A phone, for another. Sure it has a bigger screen but really what your buying is a huge iPod touch. I my opinion this thing could be cool, VERY cool. The only thing that's holding it back right now is it's lack of camera and ability to make calls. Until it can do that, it's really only an iPod touch. Granted an iPod Touch with a way bigger screen and way better computer inside.

It will be amazing for surfing the internet away from home or on vacation and business trips. Doing anything on line will be great with it. Looking at photos, watching movies (that you've downloaded from itunes store and have paid for), using the apps that your used to, all these things will be made... bigger on the iPad. And that could be all you really need.

What I really want is to get my hands on one of these and see first hand if it feels like my iPhone or something new. If I was given one of these I would probably use the hell out of it, but I'm not sure it would be a better choice over a regular macbook or macbook pro. If all you do is surf the web, play games, send emails, update facebook, and any number of things that don't require specific programs on your computer, this is probably for you. I, personally, like to be able to run Adobe programs, DVD's, web editing software and any other of my numerous apps on my computer, not to mention video chatting.

I love you apple, but what I really wanted was something new with the iPhone... oh well, maybe February.

Biking and Toys

Today was another bike ride with my uncle Tom Hanson. We biked to Shorewood near Minnetonka, to my cousin's house (Chevis, Dan, Daniel and to be determined ). After hanging out with them for a bit we decided to head back home.

At the end of the entire ride, my computer read 50.08 miles for todays ride. It was pretty good. And I'm actually getting used to riding right around 50 miles now. When I first went for a ride with Tom, 30 miles and I was beat. After the first ride, 40 miles and I was beat. we went 45 the second and it was getting a bit cold for me but I felt I could go farther. The next, 58 miles and I was getting pretty beat around the 50 mile mark.

NOW, 50 miles and I could probably STILL rock and roll. I usually bring a bar or something to eat about 30 miles in, and that probably helps. But I'm thinking I'm about ready to go for a 50 or so mile bike ride with nothing but breakfast under my belt.

ALSO, I stopped by Robot Love today and picked up a couple of things I've been looking forward to.

Teddy Trooper "Le Mans" by Flying Fortress:

and Dragon Boy by Sam Flores

Both amazing pieces and I've been waiting a while for.

Star Wars Garage Sale... WIN

Found a Star Wars garage sale on craigslist.com not too far from my house. Had to go and check it out. After taking a few wrong turns and calling Gretchen for help, I finally found it. I got there at about 9:45am... they opened at 9am... I left at about 8:40am.... like I said, I got lost.

But once I got there, there was loads of Star Wars things to go round. As I walked in I felt a bit let down because there's didn't appear to be too much. But when I got in there, saw the 3 or so tables full of stuff above and below, I went ape shit.

Star Wars book, Star Wars figures, Star Wars original records, Star Wars collectables... it was awesome.

Here's a pic of all the stuff I bought... I kinda wish I would have bought more, but I'm glad that I was able to show a little bit of restraint.

I know what you're thinking... and yes, those are blueprints to the Slave 1, X-Wing, and Rebel Snowspeeder. AND YES, that's a star wars bed sheet... for children...

and a stormtrooper pez dispenser...

Purchases from Chicago Comic-Con

These are the things I bought at Comic-Con....

Drawing of Boba Fett by Tom Hodges

Old Star Wars glasses from Burger King way back when... Along with a mini Boba Fett Helmet.

The main reason I HAD to get the helmet was because it is detailed down to the INSIDE... Including the brown paddings... those are actually rubber!

A LOAD of Star Wars Figures, that I was going to have signed by the people who played them.... BUT that would have cost WAY too much.

Comics, comics and more comics.... almost a full set of Elephantmen. Along with the variant issues that I needed to complete my set of All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder.

Last but not least, a Darth Vader Helmet... WITH WORKING VOICE CHANGER!!!!

Oh yeah, and a Pocket Jesus for Gretchen and Jessica. :)

More pics from the convention later... right now, out to see about a job... omg!

Comic Con Chicago.... '09

Today I picked up 2 cups and 5 toys. all for $5 a piece.

TOYS! yes....

And here comes the rant..... I bought the Boba Fett, Lando, Chewbacca, Greedo, and Luke in Stormtrooper costume figures... I bought these to get them signed by the actors who played them... all except Mark Hamill... he's not here... :(

The reason I 'm pissed is that I walked up to Lou Ferrigno (the original actor of The Hulk) and asked if I could take a picture of him with us. He politely told me that it was $30 for a picture and it was $25 for a signed photo of him... I politely told him to suck my balls and we left. Later I asked a worker at the con if all of the actors were like this and he said that Billy Dee Williams was pretty cool and he charges $40 or $50 for signatures and photos. I am SOOO disappointed that these stars are charging their fans money to show their appreciation. I went to see Jim Lee at a comic book store a while ago and all he charged me was my time in line. TWO FREE signatures and a picture with him, one of the most talented and well known comic book artists today, and he didn't take any money out of my pocket.

I tell you this, if comic conventions are always like this... there's a good chance that this will be my last.

Mail Win!

Just got this bad boy in the mail... a little something I swiped from ebay...

This is the Boba Fett figure from the Gentle Giant's Star Wars Animated Limited Edition Maquette. This one is numbered 5935/7000... not TOO bad, especially for the price I paid for it. The style is amazing, I can't get enough of it. It PAINS me to say this but really don't think this will be the last one of these that I get.

Ebay, I luvz you.

2009 Microcon

Went to the Microcon last sunday at the stat fair grounds with my cousin Jessica. Was just like any other Con, people dressed up, comic and toy venders everywhere.

This is a Picture of Jessica with Jengo Fett and a clone trooper. There were all sorts of super heroes there but these were, in my opinion, the best outfits in terms of quality and realism.

I did end up buying a few comics and a bunch of toys as well.

A decent contribution to my already started "Boba Fett Shelf".

I also found an artist who's blog I've been following. His name is Grant Gould and he draws for the Star Wars the Clone Wars online comic. I asked if he would do a character sketch for me but instead of doing it on paper I gave him a Mini Munny to doodle on. He said he'd rather doodle on it after the con and send it to me. So I emailed him and am waiting for a reply.

Other than that, not too much going on really. I read Superman: Red Son, a comic that I picked up for dan at the con. Kind of a Superman in Russia scenario, with a Russian Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman. Pretty awesome.

If you're a fan of Superman, check it out... but if you're a fan of Batman, like me, you REALLY HAVE TO READ IT...  yay batman.

Pencil Munny

been working on this Munny little by little for the past few days.

done completely in pencil. Still planning on putting a layer of matt clear coat over the top. I just wanted to take some pics just in case the top coat takes away from the design.
